Communal Council

The Communal Council is the most senior executive authority of the commune of Bottmingen.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Communal Council is responsible for setting objectives within the commune and planning the measures necessary for their achievement, clarifying the requisite resources and coordinating the resulting process. Furthermore, the Council’s role is to ensure that the authorities and the administration office perform their activities in a lawful and service-oriented manner.

Mission Statement / Legislative Programmes
The Communal Council formulates objectives for the commune, plans the measures necessary for their achievement, clarifies the requisite resources and coordinates the resulting process. This is laid down in the administrative and organisational regulations of our commune. In 2008, and building on these regulations, the Communal Council formulated a Mission Statement with its political objectives for the period of 2008 to 2016. Based on these objectives, in 2008 and 2012 the Council defined its legislative objectives and implementation measures, ranking them according to priority.
The new Communal Council elected in July 2016 defined its future objectives in the form of a strategic planning approach, and reformulated its Mission Statement for the period of 2016 to 2024 under consideration of political, social and financial developments. In parallel to this, the Council also defined the focal points for the current legislative session (2016 to 2020) and the associated requisite measures.
The Communal Council is highly conscious of the range of different players involved in influencing the development, village life and image of Bottmingen. The Council therefore attaches great importance to seeing the scope for initiatives and autonomous activities being used by associations, parties, institutions, churches, companies, groups and individuals with a view to maintaining Bottmingen’s appeal as an attractive and rewarding place to live.
